We recently lost our own hero to the Taliban in Afghanistan, brother Scotty "Southside" Roberson, one of the security team killed in the December 30, 2009 suicide bombing in Khost province that also took 6 other of his friends and patriots, including a former Navy SEAL. A lifetime member of the Iron Pigs Motorcycle Club Chapter, Scotty reminds me of Marcus in almost every way. We will be honoring "Southside" in our IPMC annual Shelby Ride, held each year to raise money for fallen officers. Scotty, a former Atlanta police officer, was survived by a beautiful wife and a daughter he never had a chance to meet. Members of our Texas chapters will be making the trip, so if any of you Texans would like to take a little ride to Atlanta for a great cause, we'd love to have you. Next time you see Marcus in the shop, tell him "Rowdy" shares his pain and may God Bless him and his family. As Scotty would say, "I love you, brother."
